Why did you decide to fundraise for your chosen cause?

I was delighted to be able to organise a Bake Sale as part of the Big Leap. I chose to support the Euan MacDonald Centre for Motor Neurone Disease to show my support for my friend Gordon Aikman who is living with this awful disease.

How did you raise money?

I was moved and impressed with the generosity of my colleagues at EDINA getting on board and donating so many cakes and goodies. I was also delighted at how efficient and effective they were at making them disappear!

I’m now in training for the 10K on the 28th of May, also for the Euan MacDonald Centre. This will allow me to burn off some of those cookies. I’m usually a couch potato, so running 10K is a proper challenge for me.

Fundraising wisdom

Use social media to show people the work you are putting in and the fun you’re having preparing for your event, and on the day. That gives people a chance to express their encouragement and feel a part of it, whilst also gently reminding them to get their wallets / credit card details ready.
