Abbathon 5K & 10K Fun Run

Whether you're a seasoned runner or just a devoted ABBA fan, this event is for everyone who wants to celebrate the music of ABBA while enjoying a scenic 5K or 10K run (or walk) through one of the city's most iconic parks, while raising money for charity.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This ABBA-themed 5k and 10k fun runs are at Glasgow Green, Scotland, one of the UK’s most beautiful and historic parks. Whether you're aiming for a new personal best or just vibing to iconic feel-good tunes, this is your chance to channel your inner Dancing Queen and enjoy an unforgettable day of music, movement, and pure ABBA magic.

Dress the part (optional)– Come in your favourite ABBA-inspired outfit or recreate one of their iconic retro looks!

Music to set the mood – The atmosphere starts strong with ABBA’s biggest hits playing at the start line.

ABBA Tribute Performance & Warm-Up – An ABBA tribute act will perform live for at least 45 minutes before the race kicks off – the perfect way to warm up and get into the groove!

Music Guides – Run alongside our music guides, each carrying a speaker, so you can enjoy music as you run!

Chip-timed race – For those chasing a PB or wanting to track their pace, all runners will be provided with race bibs featuring chip timing

Special-Edition Finisher’s Medal – A one-of-a-kind medal inspired by iconic ABBA elements. The perfect keepsake to show off your ABBATHON pride!

JustGiving

Once you've registered it's time to set-up your JustGiving page at www.justgiving.com/universityofedinburgh - set an ambitious fundraising target and use ‘your story’ to tell your donors why you are raising money. Add your photo to your JustGiving page, so your supporters know they’re at the right page!

Please click to opt-in to receive communications from your chosen charity (that’s us) when you set up your Just Giving page. This will allow us to provide advice and support for your fundraising activity, let you know how your donation is helping, and invite you to events.

When creating your page, JustGiving will automatically generate a unique URL – it’s worthwhile changing this to something easier to remember. We can create a QR code for your page that you can use to promote your fundraising.

As well as our generic JustGiving, we also have some area specific JustGiving pages, visit our 'Getting Started' page for more information, or get in touch.
