Supernova Kelpies

Experience the thrill of running under the stars at Supernova Kelpies 2025!

This isn't your average running event; it's a twilight run like no other. If you're drawn to the allure of the night and looking for a unique running experience, Supernova Kelpies is the 5k for you.

This fantastic 5k fundraiser takes you past the home of two 30-metre-high horses! Created by Sculptor Andy Scott, you will run by Duke and Baron, the largest equine sculptures in the world!

Although Kelpies are mythical creatures who love to play at dusk, the Kelpies in Falkirk were inspired by the cultural heritage of the Clydesdale horses, draught horses, which worked hard to help people along the canals and on the land.

Come and immerse yourself in a light journey with them and your fellow runners, whilst raising money for your chosen area of the University of Edinburgh.

Event information has been taken from the Supernova website – please double check details on their website before registering as it may be subject to change. Supernova events are managed by MyRunning.com. Please register your place via their (external) website at www.supernovarun.com.

JustGiving

Once you've registered it's time to set-up your JustGiving page at www.justgiving.com/universityofedinburgh.

  • Set an ambitious fundraising target and use ‘your story’ to tell your donors why you are raising money. Add your photo to your JustGiving page, so your supporters know they’re at the right page!
  • Please click to opt-in to receive communications from your chosen charity (that’s us) when you set up your Just Giving page. This will allow us to provide advice and support for your fundraising activity, let you know how your donation is helping, and invite you to events, including our exclusive thank you events
  • When creating your page, JustGiving will automatically generate a unique URL – it’s worthwhile changing this to something easier to remember.

As well as our generic JustGiving, we also have some area specific JustGiving pages, visit our 'Getting Started' page at Resources | Giving for more information, or get in touch.
