Our daughter-in-law was diagnosed with endometriosis a few years ago. She is just in her early thirties and endometriosis is very debilitating to her. There are thousands of young women like her, and I wanted to do something to help further research into the condition, and in turn enable better treatment. How did you raise money? I raised money by hosting coffee and cake evenings and was delighted my best friend, Yvonne, helped at all four evenings. Our neighbours and close friends attended and donated very generously. A friend donated 100 slabs of tablet to sell, and we held raffles too. I raised awareness of endometriosis every evening, as well as fundraising in aid of urgent research. Fundraising wisdom The evening doesn’t have to be massive, any amount of money helps. Questions can be raised, and it helps if you do your homework.
