Name Lucie, Emma, Jack and Tom Cause fundraised for low grade serous ovarian cancer research at the University of Edinburgh Method of fundraising taking part in the Oslo Marathon Image Why did you decide to fundraise for your chosen cause? We chose to fundraise for research into low grade serous ovarian cancer for our dear friend Nikki, who was diagnosed was low grade serous ovarian cancer in November 2022. Our aim was to also raise awareness of this rare and under-researched form of ovarian cancer, which disproportionately affects younger women like Nikki. We hope that one day, research will lead to a cure. How did you raise money? By running the Oslo Marathon and requesting donations through our JustGiving page, involving sixteen weeks of tough training leading up to the event! We received amazing support from friends, family and work colleagues. Doing this challenge as a group of four friends was an amazing and unforgettable experience.
